A wax seal is the cheapest way to make an envelope feel like an occasion. If you are after wax seal stamps, a custom embosser or sealing wax in Australia, you have come to the right place — and it is one of the nicest DIY jobs in the run-up to a wedding.

What can you use a wax seal or embosser on?

Far more than envelopes, which is what makes one stamp worth owning.

The obvious job is the envelope holding your wedding invitations — a seal on the flap is the first thing a guest touches. After that the same stamp goes onto gift tags and bonbonniere, the corner of a menu, a place card, a belly band holding the suite together, or the gift wrapping on the day. One stamp, used across the whole wedding, and everything suddenly looks like it belongs together.

An embosser does the same job without wax. It presses your design straight into the paper, works on anything from 60 to 140gsm, and suits menus, invitations and place cards where melted wax would be one thing too many to carry.

Our standard stamps have a 25mm brass head on a wooden handle. The custom wedding stamps are made properly: each handle is hand turned in Queensland from reclaimed Queensland Maple, and the brass head is machined and engraved by us. No cheap imports.

How many wax beads do you need per seal?

Two to three beads for a 25mm seal, so a pack of 100 gives you roughly 35 to 50 — enough for a small guest list, and worth ordering a second pack if you are sealing every envelope.

The method takes a minute to learn: two or three beads into the spoon, melt over the burner or a candle, pour onto the envelope, press the stamp into the warm wax and lift once it has cooled. It is the kind of job you can do in an evening with a friend, and it looks far more expensive than it costs.
