Wedding Seating Charts

A wedding seating chart is the one sign that saves you from a queue at the door. Guests arrive, find their name, and go straight to their table — no hovering at the entrance, no bridesmaid pointing people in the right direction while the drinks go warm.

It replaces a table full of individual escort cards with a single display, which is quicker to set up and far less to carry home at the end of the night. Printed on 3mm foam PVC board and stood on an easel, with no framing required.

Alphabetical or grouped by table?

This is the decision that determines how fast people find themselves, and there is a clear rule of thumb.

Grouping by table suits a smaller wedding where guests already know roughly who they are sitting with. Listing every guest alphabetically works better as numbers climb — scanning one long list beats scanning fifteen table headings looking for your own name. Whichever you choose, keep the whole chart to one system. A chart that mixes the two is slower to read than either.

When to order

Leave your seating plan until after the RSVP date has passed. It is the last piece of wedding stationery to finalise for a reason — a chart printed around a guest list that is still moving is a chart printed twice. Once the numbers are locked, allow time for printing and delivery before the week of the wedding.
